My clan and I spent a day up in Logan before meeting for the Thurston family's session scheduled later in the afternoon. We love Logan and wished we lived closer so we could visit, camp, and play more. Seconds into the canyon, we were in awe of how beautiful the location was. Snow hugging every bush and blanketing the ground. Snow is the perfect reflector to make skin glow. A photographer's heaven. But sometimes things don't go as you plan. Sometimes little ones fall asleep right before you arrive at your session and they cry the whole time you're trying to capture some moments on camera. That's life. Children are the most unpredictable blessing of photography and you worked with what you get. You still get some winners and shots of Mom and Dad lovingly looking at each other despite the bit of chaos. Miracles happens. Like, little Emma finally warming up for quick family shot after watching my son playing in the snow. Or, getting perfect ones of Mom and Dad while their babies were still sleeping. You can't even tell the weather was 32 by the look on their faces! Parenthood is tough but it's worth it. I wouldn't trade the memories, learning, and growth for a second.

My dear friends wanted to celebrate the arrival of their new baby girl by taking some updated gorgeously Fall pictures. The backdrop of the burgundy vine wall was the perfect accent and pop of color. Despite it being cold, we had fun and enjoyed the pockets of sunshine that we found. Little miss was more than willing to give me her cheesiest grin while I was dying of laughter behind my camera. I walked away knowing how much this little family loves each other. Location: Paul Reams Wilderness Park - Provo, UT
What a beautiful golden setting that I wasn't even planning on! The best part was that I didn't need to edit any of these shots. So perfect in every way. The Johansen boys kept me laughing the whole time. From the baby's "Oooo" face to the eldest's wacky poses, it felt like our session went by too fast. This family gets 5 stars in the humor department! Location: Paul Reams Wilderness Park - Provo, UT
Nothing is cuter than 3 boys in matching bowties! For my last mini-session of 2018, and the last session before the color change of fall, I got to giggle and play as these little hams for the camera smiled their hearts out. I loved getting to know this family. Chatting with the parents, they laughed as they recognized how easy this shoot was because they didn't have to dress-up themselves. I'm with ya on that. Amen. 30 people?! There's lots of love to go around with a beautiful family of this size and they have the cutest faces! It's amazing to see all the joy and happiness that can come from two people falling in love. Congrats to Brad and Julie for having such a beautiful, strong, and close family. We love you all so much! For the big group shot, I set up my tripod and posed everybody before I ran over with my remote. We took that picture first because everyone's, especially the little ones, attentions allowed them to cooperate a lot easier. I'm pretty proud of how they turned out! |
